Technical Director (Charlestown, MA)
Utilize minimum requirements to oversee all aspects of technical design or product development and manufacturing/ production for high-end wedding gowns, including on-going product development based on market demands. Reporting to the Production Director and servicing 5 bridal brands. Supervise direct reports including technical managers, Lectra patternmakers and sample makers.
Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Fashion Design, Apparel/Textile Manufacture or related field and 10 years of experience in the job offered or 10 years experience in a women's apparel manufacturing position. Experience may have been obtained concurrently and must include:
(i) 10 years of managing fit approvals;
(ii) 10 years of any combination of experience working with off shore product development and manufacturing partners;
(iii) 10 years experience of specification development for womenswear;
(iv) 10 years experience of working directly with designers to manage the product development process;
(v) 10 years experience of managing sample makers;
(vi) 10 years experience of critical path management for product development process;
(vii) 7 years experience of managing pattern technologists or garment technologists;
(viii) 7 years experience of establishing and maintaining Quality management processes for bulk production;
(ix) 5 years pattern making experience for womenswear using a sloper for development;
(x) 5 years experience in each of the following: interepreting and evaluating fabric testing, color approval processes and techniques for handling to develop construction for garment;
(xi) 3 years experience with a CAD pattern software.
