Priscilla of Boston NY Bridal Week 2006
Priscilla of Boston Collection

Priscilla of Boston Bridal Collection designer Melissa Sweet, who joined Priscilla salons in 2004 knows how to turn yards of French and Aleneon lace, English net, satin and taffeta into timeless, undeniably elegant gowns for modern women.
"My inspiration for this collection is the Boston Tea Party," Sweet told Fashion Ledge. She continues, "It's about breaking away and being free." Just as the The Sons of Liberty protested the Tea Act in late 1700s for independence, this collection breaks free of what is expected from women's bridal gowns.
Her attention to tailoring and small detail of embroidery, pleated ruffle, woven banded bodice and topstitching are what turns what could have been simple gowns into masterpieces. From the intricate detail on the hand-piece "quilt" gown of Satin and English Net, to the strapless drop-waist satin gown with asymmetrically draped bubble skirt, we can't but hold our breath for more.
