What's in store?

Bridal

The store: Priscilla of Boston, 3926 W. 50th St. Edina, 952-922-2106, www.priscillaofboston.com.

The concept: Romance is alive in the fabric-draped rooms of the 12th salon of this 63-year-old bridal couturier.

Who: Priscilla Kidder opened her first shop in Boston. She became most famous for designing the gowns of Julie Nixon and Luci Baines Johnson.

What you'll find: The more traditional bridal collection, of course. However, there are more to choose from: Melissa Sweet designs a more modern line under her own name; the Platinum Collection is a luxury line that offers brides a red carpet moment; the Vineyard Collection by Mark Brower features a slightly less expensive and trend-forward line without compromising quality or design. Bridesmaids' dresses are displayed in a rainbow of colors and flower girls can feel grown-up trying on Us Angels Flower Girls dresses with the bride-to-be.

Signature item: Sure, Priscilla of Boston is best known for its original label, but dresses like the one pictured from the lower priced Vineyard Collection are beautiful alternatives.
